Emily Procter

 

American actress Emily Mallory Procter, born October 8, 1968 is also an activist. She played Ainsley Hayes in the NBC political drama The West Wing (2000-2002; 2006) and Det. Calleigh Duquesne, CBS's police procedural drama CSI: Miami 2002-2012



 



 Childhood and early life



 Procter was born on the 8th of October 1968. William Procter, an obstetrician was the one who adopted her as an infant . He also adopted Barbara Jones, a volunteer worker. She was raised in Raleigh. She was only three years older when her parents divorced. She has an older brother, Whit also adopted.



 



 Procter graduated from Ravenscroft School in Raleigh. While attending East Carolina University, Procter was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Procter was a TV anchor for news at WNCT in Greenville, North Carolina. After graduation, she earned degrees in journalism dance.
